Catalyst Grant Program

The Costa Rica USA Foundation for Cooperation (CRUSA) seeks to strengthen organizations with the potential to generate a scalable and innovative impact on Costa Rica. As a part of this effort, we invite all nonprofit entities in the country to submit proposals to our Catalyst Grant Program, which provides support of up to $10,000 to the most innovative proposals that seek to meet one or more of the following objectives:

  • Build human capacity within a nonprofit organization
  • Increase the income-generating capacity of a nonprofit organization
  • Create capacity-building resources or models that can be scaled/shared among Costa Rican nonprofits

Please note that we do not fund recurring costs (such as salaries) or direct attention to beneficiaries (direct funding for projects). The Catalyst Grant program funds one-time costs that build the internal capacity of a nonprofit organization so that it can increase its impact over time. We can only fund legally registered nonprofit organizations.

Dates and Process

This call for proposals opens on Jan. 23, 2019 and will close at 11:59 pm on March 1, 2019. The CRUSA Foundation expects to notify applicants of funding decisions by Friday, April 12, 2019.

Proposals or questions about the program should be submitted to kstanley@crusa.crPlease note that questions regarding the Catalyst Grant Program will be received via email only.
