Scholarships for students who are completing their tenth year at scientific high schools, have an intermediate level of English, demonstrated academic excellence, a leadership profile, and a desire to go into a science and technology-related field.

Beneficiaries study one year of high school in the U.S. The scholarship includes transportation, lodging, meals and a stipend for personal expenses.

The program is promoted by the U.S. Embassy in Costa Rica and American Field Service (AFS Costa Rica).

Scholarship recipients are selected by AFS.
